Product information
ARDEX P 52 is a ready-to-use primer for floors, walls and ceilings. It acts as a primer, bonding agent and water-repellent pore sealer. It prepares absorbent substrates before applying floor or wall levelling compounds.
This primer binds residual dust and helps seal pores. ARDEX P 52 thus prevents air bubbles rising from the substrate when a levelling coat is applied and limits premature loss of mixing water. The product is ready to use, solvent-free and very low in emissions.
ARDEX P 52 READY is intended for indoor use on cement screeds, concrete floors, existing levelling coats, absorbent plaster and absorbent concrete. For smooth and dense substrates such as wood, ARDEX recommends other primers in the range, such as ARDEX P 4 READY, ARDEX P 82 or ARDEX P 52 concentrate at the correct mixing ratio.
Application instructions
- For indoor use only. Outdoor use and use in permanently wet areas are not recommended.
- Minimum substrate temperature: +10°C.
- Drying time is approximately 90 minutes to 3 hours, depending on substrate absorbency and conditions.
- Consumption is approximately 200 g/m².
- Reseal opened containers tightly and use the contents promptly. Store upright and protect from frost.
- Where polyurethane-, epoxy resin- or bitumen-based adhesive residues are present, ARDEX P 82 must be used as the bonding agent.
Step-by-step guide
- Ensure the substrate is dry, firm and free from dust and separating layers.
- Shake the container well before use.
- Apply the primer evenly with a roller.
- Allow the coat to dry until a thin film forms.
- Then proceed with subsequent work, such as levelling or further finishing.
- On existing substrates with old levelling compound or adhesive residues, first check that these are water-resistant and sufficiently load-bearing.
