Product information
ARDEX K 39 is a reactivatable floor levelling compound for layer thicknesses from 1 to 20 mm. It was developed for smoothing and levelling substrates and produces a very smooth, level finish. Thanks to MICROTEC Technology, this levelling compound combines excellent flow with a long open time, allowing comfortable working over larger areas.
ARDEX K 39 is particularly practical thanks to its activator effect. The mortar can be reactivated by remixing without adding extra water. This also makes it convenient for installers working alone or needing more time during levelling.
ARDEX K 39 is suitable for indoor floors and can be applied to substrates including cement screeds, concrete floors, calcium sulphate screeds, mastic asphalt screeds, magnesite screeds and dry screed elements. It provides a base for coverings including PVC and CV, design flooring and LVT, rubber, linoleum, textile floor coverings, parquet, tiles, natural stone and large-format tiles.
Application instructions
Mixing ratio: approximately 6.0 litres of water per 25 kg of powder.
Working time approximately 40 minutes at +18°C to +20°C.
Apply a minimum layer thickness of 1.5 mm on non-absorbent substrates.
Can be applied from 1 to 10 mm without added aggregate.
For thicknesses from 10 to 20 mm, add aggregate such as 0–2 mm sand or ARDEX SPS special sand, 0–3 mm.
Apply at temperatures above +5°C.
Do not use outdoors or in permanently wet areas.
Protect the levelling layer from drying too quickly due to sunlight or draughts.
Ready for foot traffic after approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Step-by-step guide
- Ensure that the substrate is level, dry, firm, load-bearing and free from separating layers.
- Repair cracks and joints professionally and prepare the substrate where required.
- Use a suitable primer from the ARDEX range, depending on the substrate.
- Mix 25 kg of ARDEX K 39 with approximately 6.0 litres of clean water to obtain a lump-free mixture.
- Apply the levelling mortar with a smoothing trowel or gauge rake to the required layer thickness.
- Finish the surface within the working time of approximately 40 minutes.
- Tiles can be laid as soon as the levelling layer is ready for foot traffic. Other floor coverings can be installed after approximately 12 hours to 2 days, depending on the layer thickness.
