Our gravel binder bonds loose gravel and chippings together, creating a firm, water-permeable and stable layer that cannot shift or develop ruts.

Working with Gutjahr

For this patio, we installed a water-permeable finish over the existing concrete slab. Joints were first cut into the concrete. The AquaDrain HB drainage mat from Gutjahr was then loose-laid over the slab.

On top of this drainage mat, a layer of ROMFIX Draindeco 30 mm thick was applied. As Draindeco is water-permeable, water reaches the drainage mat. The existing concrete slab already had a fall, allowing the water to pass through the mat onto the slab and drain away horizontally.

This makes it possible to create a water-permeable patio finish even over an impermeable base.
