A maintenance-free slope

The municipality of Moerdijk was looking for a low-maintenance solution to persistent weed growth on one of its slopes. Working with De Krom B.V. and Struyk Verwo Infra we advised the municipality to repave the slope with a special paving block designed for jointing (BKK Nevergreen).

Cleaning

Before work could begin, the old paving had to be cleaned to reveal its exact location. In May 2022, the slope paving was removed and relaid by De Krom B.V. using special paving blocks designed for jointing. The paving contractor lays the blocks against one another, automatically leaving sufficient space for the jointing mortar. Thanks to ROMFIX Pro two-component jointing mortar, the slope is weed-free and has a durable, long-lasting finish.

No chemicals used

In many municipalities, weeds are still removed using chemicals or mechanical brushing. These methods pose a risk to the immediate surroundings and do not contribute to a sustainable slope. Fortunately, our solution has made this a thing of the past and the slope is now maintenance-free.
