ROMFIX system

A temporary access road was needed for works around Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. With the existing route closed, an alternative connection had to be built. Part of the route also needed to remain suitable for use as a permanent maintenance road.

A load-bearing road structure

The temporary road was built across a meadow in a peatland area. The soft ground made achieving sufficient load-bearing capacity a major challenge. The ROMFIX system was selected to create a stable, load-bearing road structure. Its foundation system increased the load-bearing capacity of the subgrade, making the road suitable for traffic.

Part of the access road now serves as a permanent maintenance road for the water authority. The ROMFIX system ensures that the foundation retains sufficient load-bearing capacity over the long term.
