ROMFIX Pro is one of the most popular two-component epoxy resin paving jointing mortars frequently used by professionals such as landscapers, paving contractors and organisations working in public spaces. ROMFIX Pro is ideal for jointing materials including clay paving, ceramic tiles, cobbles (setts), Swedish granite, concrete paving blocks, natural stone and courtstones, with a minimum joint width of 3 millimetres. The required joint depth depends on the substrate: is your existing paving laid on a stable sand bed? Use a minimum joint depth of 3 centimetres. Is your paving laid, or due to be laid, on a base of drainage bedding mortar? Use a minimum joint depth of 2 centimetres. This jointing compound provides a durable, long-lasting solution against weed growth and insects, and prevents dirt or gravel from getting into the joints. ROMFIX Pro is a paving jointing mortar for heavy traffic loads of up to 7.5 tonnes per axle. ROMFIX Pro packaging is made from recycled plastic!
ROMFIX Pro is available in neutral, stone grey and basalt.
Environmentally conscious
Because it eliminates the need for chemical weed-control products, PRO jointing compound is an environmentally conscious choice. It is also very easy to apply using a mortar mixer. ROMFIX Pro has a highly fluid consistency and retains this during application, making it easy to spread across the surface.

Application
Application instructions
- Working time: 20–30 minutes at an application temperature of +20°C
- Substrate temperature: > 0°C
- Lower temperatures extend the curing time
- Higher temperatures shorten the curing time
- Apply in dry weather, then keep free from moisture for at least 24 hours
- Do not cover the paving after jointing
- Ready for foot traffic after 24 hours; fully ready for use after 6 days (at a substrate temperature of approximately +20°C)
- Minimum joint depth of 2 cm when laid on drainage bedding mortar.
Step-by-step guide
- Clean the joints with a pressure washer to a minimum depth of 30 mm (minimum joint width 3 mm). Thoroughly clean the surface to be jointed. Protect adjacent surfaces that are not to be jointed by masking them off.
- Add the sand to the mixer and switch it on.
- Add the entire contents of both separately supplied resin component bottles at the same time.
- Allow the mixture to mix for approximately 3 minutes.
- Fill both empty resin component bottles with water and add it to the mixture. Do this twice, adding a total of 4 bottles of water.
- Allow the mixture to mix for approximately 3 minutes.
- Wet the paving.
- Apply the paving jointing mortar to the paving. Spread the mixture over 3 to 4 spots for the best result.
- Work the paving jointing mortar deeply and firmly into the joints using a rubber squeegee, working diagonally.
- Sweep the paving surface with a jointing broom to remove all coarse mortar residue.
- Complete the final finish using a soft broom. You can start sweeping once the broom no longer leaves white streaks. Sweep diagonally.
- Initially, a very thin synthetic resin film remains on the surface, intensifying the colour and protecting against soiling. Over time, this film disappears through weathering and wear.
